HARRISON, AR. - Harrison, Arkansas, is set to welcome a new technology company, Provalus, bringing 150 high-tech jobs to the historic downtown area. This move is expected to boost the local economy and provide career opportunities for residents.
Provalus aims to create rewarding, long-lasting careers in small American towns by bringing outsourced technology jobs back to the United States. "By creating high-value technology careers in Boone County, we're giving individuals the chance to build their futures without having to leave their hometowns," said Mike Keogh, President of Provalus. The company emphasizes avoiding overseas outsourcing to prevent communication issues and support local growth.
Unlike traditional call centers, Provalus employees will work on advanced tech projects, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and restaurant phone applications. Only a small portion of an employee's time will involve phone calls, primarily receiving them.
The arrival of Provalus is projected to have a multi-million dollar annual impact on Harrison. The city has already purchased a building on the square for the company and is funding its renovation. Northark College will partner with Provalus to offer specialized training courses, creating a direct path for students into these new jobs. Provalus's "Meridian Program" will also provide college-level internships, preparing students for successful IT careers with real-world experience.
These 150 jobs will be rolled out over the next five years, with an average minimum wage of $19.41 per hour, plus benefits like healthcare and bonuses. This significant investment is supported by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, which provided tax credits, a $375,000 grant, and sales tax refunds for the project.
Local leaders believe Provalus's presence could kickstart a revitalization of Harrison's downtown, attracting other businesses and creating a new era of growth for the community.
