BMG has announced that a special 20th-anniversary edition of Motörhead's album Kiss Of Death will be released on July 3.
Originally debuting in 2006, Kiss Of Death served as the band's 18th studio album and a testament to their relentless, high-energy approach to hard rock. The record continued the sonic momentum of their 2004 release, Inferno, driven by the iconic vocals of Lemmy Kilmister, the powerful guitar work of Phil Campbell, and the precise drumming of Mikkey Dee. The album is noted for its heavier sound and featured guest appearances from Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and C.C. DeVille of Poison, with standout tracks including Sucker, Trigger, and the fan favorite God Was Never On Your Side.
This anniversary edition offers an upgraded listening experience, featuring audio that has been half-speed mastered from the original tapes. The release includes new liner notes written by Classic Rock's Dave Ling, which pay tribute to the legacy of guitarist Phil Campbell. Depending on the format, fans can enjoy different bonuses: the vinyl edition includes an exclusive live LP from the band's 2007 performance at the Lowlands festival in the Netherlands, while the CD version contains three additional bonus tracks.
To promote the release, a new official lyric video for God Was Never On Your Side has been launched, along with a preview of Killed By Death from the Lowlands set, both of which are available on streaming platforms.
This release arrives as a poignant reminder of Phil Campbell's impact on the band. Campbell, who passed away in March 2026 at the age of 64, was a member of Motörhead from 1984 to 2015. He contributed to classic albums such as Orgasmatron and 1916 before the band ceased operations following the death of founder Lemmy Kilmister in 2015.
