Despite retiring from touring in 2023, legendary rock band KISS isn't slowing down. Gene Simmons, the band's iconic bassist, shared exciting future plans, including a new animated series and another unique Kruise event in Las Vegas.
Simmons explained that KISS is always looking to surprise fans with "extraordinary" experiences. "We are going to go where no band has gone before," he teased, promising high-quality projects designed to amaze.
One of the most anticipated announcements is the band's avatar show, first hinted at during their final tour concert in December 2023. While details are still under wraps, Simmons guarantees it will be unveiled within two years and will be a groundbreaking experience. He described it as far more immersive than existing attractions, designed to engage all senses - allowing audiences to feel heat, smell fire, and more. This global spectacle will travel to various locations worldwide.
KISS also has several film projects in the pipeline. A biopic, directed by McG, is moving forward with script refinements and casting. A documentary about the band is complete, awaiting a release date. Additionally, a cartoon series is being developed with Warner Brothers, bringing the band's iconic characters to a new audience.
Fans can also look forward to another KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas this November. Following the success of last year's event, which featured unmasked and uncostumed performances, Simmons emphasized the fun and intimate atmosphere. He highlighted the importance of connecting with the KISS Army, the loyal fanbase that has supported them for decades.
Before these events, Simmons and Paul Stanley will be honored with an induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 11 in New York City. Simmons reflected on the band's songwriting journey, realizing its impact only after other artists covered their songs.
Finally, KISS is expanding its Rock & Brews restaurant chain with a new location opening this week in Royal Oak, a suburb of Detroit. Simmons expressed pride in Detroit's long-standing support for the band, calling it a "wonderful place" for their 19th restaurant.
